Rascal Rodents- Story 6: Return of Drakes

It was a beautiful morning. The birds were chirping  and the sun was brighter than ever. The climate was pleasant and the three rats were in a pretty good mood. They had expected that it would be an amazing day. They had many plans in their mind-They would have a wonderful breakfast, then would go to the Rats Club, then they would go to Aunt Missie for some days and would come back  with lots of gifts. But who knew that their bad days have come again?

Cre-e-e-k! Someone was opening the door. Oh no! It was Bill. He came inside the house, then came Mary and Drakes. The rats broke down. Their good days were over!

Bill and Mary were shocked to find the condition of the house. Everything was lying here and there. The fridge was almost  empty. ”Meeeeeoooww!” Drakes was angry. Has he suspected the culprits?

Meanwhile the rats were having a conversation. ” If I could, I would have thrown that Drakes out of the house! ” Cried Louis ” He needs a lesson! He needs a sound beating!”.  ” Ya!” Yelled Glide. ”May that cat be cursed!” Said Louis angrily.

Suddenly , their house shook. ”If I get you, you rascal rodents, I will not leave my stomach empty.” Laughed Drakes.” Mark my words. I know you have finished off all the food .”

The rats remained silent. Louis took the courage to speak ” W-w-e-e   s-s-h-o-u-l-d d-d-o   s-s-s-o-m-m-e-t-h-i-n-g-g……”  ”W-w-h-a-t?” Asked Henry  ” We can teach that cat a lesson, can’t we?” ”We  can! We will” Cried Glide. ”But how?”

The rats were feeling hungry. Will they have to starve even today? ” No. We have to get something to eat.” Said Henry ” Or we will die out of hunger.”

The rats crept through the chimney and reached Mary’s room. There, taking help of their teeth, they torn the dresses of Mary. Then taking  piece of torn cloth , they went to their rat hole. They loudly made fun of the cat from inside.  Drakes heard them and rudely banged on the door of the rat hole. ” You stupid rats! I am a cleverer than you! How dare you call me a fool!” ” Prove that you are clever. Here, take this piece of cloth. If you can make it longer than  before, we will accept that you are cleverer than us.” Drakes took that piece of cloth from them and started to pull it hard with its teeth.

” Oh my God!” Shrieked Mary as she looked at her torn clothes. She rushed down stairs to inform Bill about the incidence, when she found a piece of cloth trapped between Drakes the cat’s teeth. She thought that the cat had torn her clothes. She was furious . She scolded Drakes and threw him out of the house. For a day, the cat had to stay outside. While, the rats were happy and clapped.

What a foolish cat!
