Maggi

Shhhhh! Keep quiet!  She is coming, Said suguna ‘s mother while Maggi came near suguna’s house entrance and heard these words. Dirty clothes , no oil, not properly combing  her hair, stood before her friend’s doorstep and pressed the calling bell. Suguna’s mother opened the door and asked, hi maggi, what on earth you are doing here? Maggi said , I just come to play with sugu. Suppressing her anger, suguna’s mother said, look! She has exam tomorrow,  she has to study. Now she went to her friend’s house to clear exam doubts. So don’t come here for play upto 2 weeks ok ! and slammed the door with noise.  She walked slowly from there saw all her neighbors  house also closed. Nowadays no one wants to talk or allow her their house? Why? Since 6 months her mother started to fight with her dad and going to granny’s home taking her alone with. She is not going to school properly.  Her school name for discipline expects all students should come proper tidy uniforms.  But her uniform is torn, dirty, her mother is not taking care of her. So her dad washed her uniform once a week. She doesn’t know how to comb and make tresses.  She is always getting punishment for her untidy uniform and irregular attendance.  Standing outside of the class became a habbit of her. Her mother mostly in granny’s home because of insanity.  She didn’t understand what happened to her mother.  Her dad used to come 9 or 10 o clock  at night. So she was all alone waiting for her dad. While her dad come, brought idlis or dosas from the hotel for dinner.  She always slept outside of her house veranda due to fear. What could she do? she was only 7 years old.  Didn’t know how to cook. One day suddenly one man came and said ‘your mother is dead, now kept in government hospital’.  Immediately her aunt (mother’s sister) chased her from granny’s house (because she came granny’s home for vocation stayed more than one month, thinking ‘yesterday only my mother fought with granny and left her here and run away’). Where could I go ?standing there outside for a whole day with tears.
