Apex

The day started like any other the birds were chirping the sun was out it was even nice and chilly in fact it was very quiet outside when the place that Jake stayed at was an apartment complex and he usually heard kids playing about due to school being out and had the him wondering to himself well everything is just a little bit too quiet and while he was thinking this he goes about doing his normal routine just brushing the thought off to the side and takes a shower drinks his coffee throws on some clothes and shoes goes up into his 1989 Lincoln Continental that his father had passed down to him and rides out to the store he normally goes to get more coffee and a few things he needed for his home when he gets there he notices that it’s still closed and has not been open yet and feeling that this was a little unusual he thought well maybe the store owner just decided to take the day off as it was a privately owned business and him an his 2 young sons 14 and 16 were the only ones that ran the place even though he knew the store owner from childhood and had his phone number he just decided to go ahead and head home and as he was heading back he seen this little boy walking on the side of the road thinking to himself okay this boy is all to young to be walking by himself and didn’t seem to see anobody older around him in fact anyone to be seen at all so he slows down trying to talk the boy and but the boy is looking like he might not be trying to hear him and just keeps on walking with his head down so Jake decides to speed up a little bit and get in front of him and gets on his phone and quickly tries to call 911 to his surprise he does not get nobody on the other end in fact he just gets a dial tone sound so he trys once again an to his amazement gets the same sound at this point he’s really shocked an says to himself now this is kinda crazy now he says to himself and quickly brushes the thought off and tries to get out and talk to the little boy he says little boy are you okay where’s your parents at how long have you been walking what is your name can you hear me are you deaf so he walks up to the boy places his hand on the little boys shoulder and right as soon as he puts his hand on his shoulder the boy stops and turns around and nothing wrong with the little boy Jake is relieved in fact the boy just looks at him cocks his head to the side as if puzzled and quickly lunges for him trying to take a bit of his throat he quickly pushes the boy to the side and the boy puts out a shriek that he’s never heard before and he realizes and says to himself okay now I’ve seen many many movies as he was a film critic for zombie movies over the years and says out loud okay this cannot be happening like wow are you okay little boy thinking the boy is mad upset or agitated and again the boy jumps at him but this time jumps at his legs misses his legs and latches on to his shoe and rips a piece of the shoe off and as the boy looks up Jake notices that some of the boys teeth are missing and are inside his shoe at this point things get more real for him in fact wow he says this is really happening and at that point the shrieking ended up bringing more people to his attention but they were not walking towards him in fact they were running towards him in a manner as he’s seen in plenty of zombie movies this cannot be happening and he quickly gets to his car and rolls up the windows………
