THE PERFECT SERVANT

Once there lived a miser who was in search of a perfect and obedient servant. Then one day, a man hears this and plans to destroy his misery. So, he goes to the miser’s house and vows to be the best servant. So he gets hired. The next day he reaches the miser’s house and asks the miser, ‘ What shall I make for lunch, master ? ‘ .

‘ Make tasty khichdi, that will do ‘, replies the miser.

Sometime later, the miser shouts ‘What’s taking you so long? It’s nearly five hours! ‘.

‘ Master, it will take an hour more! ‘, said the man.

‘ What! What are you doing there in the kitchen? ‘, exclaimed the miser and saying so he enters the kitchen and there he saw the man cooking food with the bowl of khichdi being cooked at the lowest flame.

‘ What are you doing! ‘, cried the miser.

‘ Being a perfect servant by saving your money!’, said the man.

And, accepting defeat , the miser vows never to be a miser againg.
