This is a funny family memory that happened in the 1920s and before I begin, no animals were harmed in this story.
My Grandfather’s sister thought it would be cute to dress up the cat one day and so Mary dressed up the cat.
At the same time, Mary decided she should put some shoes on the cat and so Mary put some doll shoes on the cat.
I am told the cat looked very lovely in its getup.
Suddenly there arose a situation as it seems that Mary apparently tied one shoe too tight onto the cat and was not able to untie the shoe from the cat’s foot.
I am told the cat limped around trying to get that shoe off its foot and the shoe did get off the cat’s foot, but that’s not what makes this story funny.
The shoe got off the cat’s foot alright, but at the same time, God Bless the poor cat, for when the shoe got off the cat, it seems the cat’s foot fell off cat.
I am told the cat lived to tell about it.
