Rascal Rodents- Story 3: Where is Glide?

It was Sunday. The three rats had gone to their Aunt, Missie. Aunt Missie’s homemade pancakes were awesome and the rats get a lot of love and care from her, whenever they visit her. They also love to listen to her stories. She never lets them go without gifts. This time too, they had received wonderful gifts from her and were on their way to home. They bid her a tearful goodbye and started their journey. On their way, they stopped at an ice-cream parlour and licked their delicious chocolate ice-creams. Soon after that, they reached home and got refreshed. It was time for them to have dinner. Suddenly, they realised that Glide was not there. They looked for him everywhere but he was nowhere to be found. Where is Glide?

They walked towards the ice-cream parlour, where they had bought ice-creams. Glide wasn’t there. They crept into the  kitchen but they didn’t find him there either. They walked everywhere…..but at last returned home, tired. They decided to inform the police about Glide going missing and would request them  to find him as fast as possible, the next morning. But now, they had no energy to do so and went to their bedroom. Louis was about to hit the bed, when he shouted ” Henry! Come here.” Henry quickly came running. ”What ?” He asked. Louis pointed at the sleeping figure, which was on the bed. Henry watched closely and spotted that it was none other than their dearest friend, Glide! He had straight away gone to sleep, after returning from Aunt Missie’s home. Henry and Louis had not noticed him at first as they where too busy, looking for him in the big spaces. Beating Around The Bush! They remembered this proverb and smiled at themselves. They had been so foolish! But,still, they were happy that their friend was sound and safe.

Phew! What a relief…..
