WEAVER ALIAS GOD VISHNU

WEAVER ALIAS GOD

In a city lived a carpenter and a weaver. They were fast friends since early childhood. Once that city. It attracted people from far off places even. And traders, singers, dancers, artists, acrobats and other entertainers also came to make money. The fair had variety of attractioms. The weaver and the carpenter were also going around the fair when they saw an extremely beauteous princess on royal elephant touring the venue.

Her beauty stunned the weaver and he watched her without blinking. Then, he fell down lusting for her. The carpenter was pained at seeing this. He brought his friend home.

When the weaver regained consciousness, the carpenter asked him as to what had happened to him. The weaver admitted that he had fallen in love with that princess so badly that he had passed out. He said that he could not live without her. And she, being a princess, was out of hteach. The weaver announced that the only way before him was to die.

The carpenter tried to assure his friend,”Friend, Don’t worry. I can get you to her tonight itself”.

The carpenter made a wooden garuda (eagle) that could fly. Then, he made the weaver to put  on clothes and imitation jewellery to look like lord Vishnu. The carpenter said, “Friend! Go to bedroom of that princess flying in the garuda. Claim to be God Vishnu and fool her into making love to you.”

The weaver did likewise. The princess pleaded, “O God Vishnu! I am merely a human being. How can I make love to God?

The weaver said,”O Beauty! You have been  doing that in the past. When I took incarnation as Krishna you loved me as Radha. When I learnt that you have taken birth as princess in this life I could not help coming to you to make love”

The princess got convinced. She suggested,  “God, I am happy to know that. You can ask my father and I will be glad to marry you.”

The weaver spoke. ” Princess! I must not be seen by any other human being. Just two of us will take oath of marriage right now secretly and start love. Or I will put curse on your family for destruction.”

The frightened princess bowed to weaver’s wish and surrendered herself to him. The weaver remained with her as god Vishnu and departed in the morning. Then, it became their every night’s routine.

The people noticed the changed behaviour of the princess who seriously believed that God was her lover. A palace servent reported to the king, “Sir, something suspicious is going on the chamber of the princess. I think a man secretly visits her every night’s.”

The worried king talked about it to the queen. The queen went to see the princess to investigate. One look at the princess told the queen that her daughter was indeed having relationship with a man.

The queen went to her daughter and rebuked, “Bad girl! Confess everything to me. Who is your lover?”

The princess felt greatly embarrassed. She reluctantly told her mother that she had scerterly married God Vishnu under threat of a curse. The  princess claimed that the king and queen can see from their window God Vishnu descending to her chamber on garuda. She warned not to come into the view of the Lord or he would curse them.

The king and the queen really saw garuda flying down from skies carrying Lord Vishnu on its back and landing on the balcony is chamber is the princess. The king was overjoyed to see this. The very thought of being the father-in-law of God was exciting. The king became very proud of this fact. Now, no other king could be mightier and the greater than him. The king started ruling with heavy hand. He behaved very arrogantly. He started making trouble for neighborhood kings. He expected other kings to surrender their kingdoms to him, the father-in-law of God Vishnu. The other kings were  so annoyed that they declared war against that king  and invaded his territory. The king thought, ‘Don’t worry. We shall get the son-in-law Vishnu to tackle the enemies.’

The queen told her daughter, “Darling! The enemies are attacking our kingdom. What check! How outrageous! Ask almighty son-in-law to destroy them our enemies.”

The princess did inform the weaver about it. He assured her, “Don’t worry, darling. I will see to it. Some day, I will cut down all those stupid king with my Sudarshan Chakra.”

The enemies king conqueuered the entire kingdom and the Capital city. Their armies reached the fort where the king and his family lived palaces. Now, the weaver had to do something or everything would be lost including the princess. It was do or die situation. He said to the princess.”Ask your father to counter attack. In war, I shall descend on my garuda and slay the enemies.”

He in fact, intended to do that. The enemies might also get fooled in believing that he was a God Vishnu and they will run away. If not, the death would cone. The weaver had decided to die playing Lord Vishnu.

In the heavens, the real Lord Vishnu said to the real garuda, “Look! That weaver has played blot of mischief acting as me. Tomorrow, he intends to fight war. We are in a fix, garuda. If that rascal dies the people vwould really think that Lord Vishnu and garuda got deafeatd by human beinGS. We will lose all the faith of the people. We can’t let that happen.”

Lord Vishnu and garuda  entered the bodies of the weaver and the wooden garuda respectively. The enemy kings were deafeatd in a trice.

Then, the weaver came down when real Lord Vishnu went back to heavena. He met the king and confessed to everything. But they were not angry with the weaver. The king married his daughter to the weaver with great pomp and show. The weaver was given a part of the kingdom as wedding gift.

MORAL: No one can know about the conspiracy if it is prepared with intelligence.
